Vascular Surgeon Dr. Alexandros Matthaiou graduated from the University of Medical School in 1996.
He completed his four-year residency in General Surgery in 2004, at the Second Surgical Department of “Agios Panteleimon” General Hospital, in Nikea, a suburb of Piraeus, Greece.
For the next two years he served as Surgical and Vascular Senior House Officer (SHO) at Watford General Hospital NHS Trust, in London.
From 2006 to 2010, he was trained in Vascular Surgery at the Department of Vascular Surgery, First Surgical Clinic of “Athenian and Kapodistrian” University of Athens, Greece.
He completed his specialty training in the use of Color Flow Duplex (Triplex) scan at a well-known private health center in Athens.
He trained in the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases at the Italian Institute of Phlebology (Ferrara, Italy) and at the Indiana Vein Center (Indianapolis, IND, USA).
In 2012, he successfully completed his Master's Degree on Modern Endovascular Techniques in Vascular Surgery at the University of Athens.
He has participated and presented scientific studies in many conferences in Greece and abroad. He has also published several research articles in Greek and international journals.
He has been running the Model Clinic of Venous Diseases in Athens since 2011. The Clinic is committed and dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Venous Diseases.
He is married and the father of one child.
